Once you've freed him, continue across the room and into the REACTOR ROOM LIFT.
To free him, press the "OPEN CHAMBER" button on the control panel, but be careful not to press the "ACTIVATE" button. To the left, you can peer down to see a man trapped in the reactor room. You can find some bullets and armor at the top of the short stack of stairs to the right before continuing through the doorway to the REACTOR CONTROL ROOM. For now, just explore the REACTOR READY ROOM, using the health station as needed. REACTOR READY ROOM and REACTOR SUB STATION 1 The level starts out pretty calm, and you won't have to worry about enemies for a few minutes.
